El Salvador – Orange Bourbon anaerobic 48h N – Light roast
Yellow Bourbon and Red Bourbon are well-known and distinct coffee varieties.
However, at some point, people discovered trees whose cherries were uniformly orange across the entire tree. This phenomenon wasn’t the result of cross-pollination between Yellow Bourbon and Red Bourbon, which might occasionally produce a few orange cherries. Instead, the whole tree consistently produced orange cherries.
These trees are identical to traditional Bourbon varieties in every other way. They have the same size, leaf shape, and structure as their Yellow and Red counterparts. The only difference is the color of the cherries, which turn orange instead of red when ripe. This consistency indicates that Orange Bourbon is a stable and unique variety.
The process is a a 48H Natural anaerobic. Flavour-wise, it’s sweet, clean, slightly earthy (in a pleasant way), well-balanced, and medium-bodied.
The anaerobic fermentation process do not overpower the taste, allowing the desired sweetness to shine through. It can be brewed in all methods.
